Google DeepMind CEO calls OpenAI's ChatGPT ad introduction 'surprising'

Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis said he was surprised by OpenAI's introduction of advertising in ChatGPT, TechCrunch reported. Asked about monetising AI through ads at the Davos forum, he said Google is approaching the issue very cautiously and is in no rush. OpenAI has begun testing ChatGPT ads for users who are not paid subscribers. Hassabis said ads can be useful but could create trust issues in AI assistant models.
