Dassault Systemes said on March 30 it has won a project to build an integrated platform to drive product development and research and development (R&D) innovation at South Korean food company Ourhome. Through the project, it will build a data-based, companywide integrated R&D operating system that supports the entire process from Ourhome’s new product development to quality verification.
It plans to manage every stage spanning product planning, development, testing analysis and quality control on a single digital platform. It also aims to create a foundation to systematically accumulate and use R&D data.
Ourhome is pushing to build a PLM system to more systematically track and use key R&D data generated across the full food R&D process, including formulations, bills of materials and change histories, and to link it organically with its product development process. It is also 추진 Smart LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) to integrate and manage quality and food safety data.
LIMS is a system that supports the entire process of collecting, storing, managing and tracking data generated in laboratories. Dassault Systemes explained it plays an important foundational role in improving quality and data reliability in the R&D process.
Woon-sung Jeong (정운성), head of Dassault Systemes Korea, said Dassault Systemes has long developed a platform specialized in the consumer goods industry, and the project with Ourhome is a meaningful case in which its capabilities have been recognized in South Korea’s food industry. He said the build, which integrates PLM and LIMS, is Dassault Systemes’ first case of applying LIMS in South Korea and presents a new benchmark for integrated management of food companies’ R&D environments on a single platform. He added it will continue to actively support data-based sustainable growth and R&D innovation together with Ourhome.
