Broad Media Telecom Commission announces 2026 plan for personal location information service provider registration

South Korea's Broad Media Telecom Commission said on Jan. 26 it announced a 2026 plan to review the suitability of registrations for personal location information service providers. Registration reviews will be conducted in four rounds in March, June, September and December, with first-round applications accepted from Feb. 19 to 26. The review covers financial soundness, facilities scale and protection measures, and applicants must be judged suitable in all areas.

CJ OnStyle opens recruitment for new, experienced show hosts

CJ OnStyle, the commerce division of CJ ENM, said on Jan. 26 it will openly recruit new and experienced show hosts through Feb. 5. It is a large-scale hiring drive, its first in about three years since 2023. The company said it is seeking talent with sales skills that combine content planning and expressive ability. Applicants will be screened through document review, camera tests, evaluations and an executive interview.

Samsung Electronics adds MILIPASS to Samsung Wallet

Samsung Electronics said on Jan. 26 it has added MILIPASS, a mobile identification service for South Korean military personnel and their families, to Samsung Wallet. MILIPASS is operated by the Korea Special Information Certification Authority and has about 1.1 million users. Samsung said the Wallet version does not store personal information on servers and applies its Knox security solution, with a security process covering issuance and use. The update also offers promotions and subscription benefits.
