Messe Muenchen will hold an electronics components exhibition and an electronics manufacturing equipment exhibition simultaneously in Bengaluru, India, in September. electronica India and productronica India will be held in Bengaluru for three days from Sept. 16 to 18, it said on Tuesday.

The two exhibitions were launched in 2000 and are held together every year. As of 2025, 733 companies from 29 countries took part, with more than 50,000 visitors and 55,000 square metres of exhibition space. The event brings together all areas of India’s electronics industry value chain in one place.

electronica India covers semiconductors, embedded systems, sensors, power management components, printed circuit boards (PCB) and electronics production services. productronica India covers surface-mount technology (SMT), PCB manufacturing, electronic component assembly, inspection, measurement equipment and production automation equipment. With both exhibitions held at the same time, visitors can see everything from parts procurement to production equipment in one place.

Bengaluru, the host city, is the capital of Karnataka state in southern India and has recently emerged as a key hub for India’s electronics industry. It is home to more than 400 global companies’ R&D centres, including Intel, Qualcomm, Nvidia and Texas Instruments. Karnataka accounts for 40 percent of India’s total electronics design and production, and half of India’s electronic components companies have bases in the state. More than 100 fabless semiconductor companies are also active there.

India’s electronics manufacturing market is forecast to be worth $300 billion (about 455 trillion won) in 2026. Areas where India’s domestic production is lacking are clearly defined, including high-precision electronic components, semiconductor inspection and measurement equipment, PCB materials and production automation equipment. As global manufacturers’ “China plus one (China+1)” strategy to reduce dependence on China spreads, demand for equipment, materials and parts to strengthen manufacturing capabilities in India is also rising.

A Messe Muenchen official said India’s electronics industry had entered a phase of structural growth as the government’s production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme, global supply chain reshuffling and expanding AI demand converged. The official said Bengaluru is where that trend is coming into clearest focus. The official added that participating in exhibitions in India is not simply about running a booth, and that relationships built now could determine orders over the next several years.
