Coinbase unveils AI agent trading tool, supports paid research payments

Coinbase has launched an AI agent tool that can trade cryptocurrencies on a user’s behalf and also make payments, TechCrunch reported on Wednesday. Users can link the agent to a primary account or run it in a separate sandbox. The tool analyzes and executes trades via Coinbase Advanced and can handle portfolio rebalancing, logic-based trading and one-off spot trade advice. It currently supports spot and derivatives markets, with stocks and prediction markets planned.

Mastercard AI payment network adds Ripple as XRP is left out and RLUSD takes center stage

Mastercard has launched a new program for autonomous payments between artificial intelligence agents, with Ripple positioning the XRP Ledger and its regulated stablecoin RLUSD as key infrastructure. More than 30 companies including Stripe, Coinbase and OKX are participating. Ripple said XRPL and RLUSD support robot digital passport verification and transaction limit controls. XRP was not mentioned in Mastercard’s enterprise pilot, while RippleX promoted tools that use XRP directly in AI commerce.

Kross launches Mainnet 2.0, switches to PoSA and expands AI infrastructure

Kross has officially launched its Mainnet 2.0, dubbed Breakpoint, optimised for blockchain games and on-chain AI agents. The upgrade, approved by about 98 percent of governance votes, shifts the network from a holdings-based structure to participation. The network begins block production under a 21-validator proof-of-staked authority model and applies a deflationary mechanism that burns all base fees. It also sets a first-year reward pool of 300 million CROSS and strengthens infrastructure for AI agents.
