RippleX engineering head says XRP Ledger agent transactions could hit 100 million within two years

RippleX’s head of engineering expects the number of agent-style transactions on the XRP Ledger to rise rapidly after recently surpassing 1 million. Coinbase is introducing a feature that lets its business customers receive USDC payments directly from artificial intelligence agents. From this week, customers can accept USDC sent by AI agents without separate integration, using the x402 payment standard, with Coinbase Payments handling settlement. Franklin Templeton says stocks alone not enough in AI era, altcoins needed

Asset manager Franklin Templeton said that as agentic artificial intelligence spreads, stocks alone may not capture all investment opportunities and holding cryptocurrencies and altcoins may be necessary. Its digital assets and innovation head Sandy Kaul said rising on-chain transactions by autonomous AI agents could make tokens issued by related networks a core portfolio asset. She argued existing card and bank rails are ill-suited for machine-to-machine micropayments and cited projections for rapid market growth and adoption.
