Korea Fintech Industry Association, XRPL Korea to support commercialisation of digital asset businesses

The Korea Fintech Industry Association said it signed an agreement with XRPL Korea on Aug. 20 to help domestic fintech firms identify and commercialise new digital asset-based businesses. The two plan joint programmes focused on payments, remittances and settlement, stablecoins, tokenisation of real-world assets and digital asset financial infrastructure. They will support idea verification, proof-of-concept work and service implementation, and may link follow-up cooperation with global XRPL networks and financial institutions.

Hecto Financial\'s stablecoin benefits coming into view, record results seen

iM Securities forecasts Hecto Financial will post its best-ever results this year, citing improving profitability in its existing payments business and potential expansion in stablecoin-based global payments and settlement. Analyst Lee Sang-heon said stablecoin benefits are becoming visible under an environment of record earnings. He expects changes in digital finance could accelerate if legislation provides a legal basis for issuing and distributing won-denominated stablecoins.

Why payment company Stripe is betting big on OpenRouter

After months of takeover talk, reports say Stripe has agreed to buy AI inference routing service OpenRouter for more than $8 billion. OpenRouter connects developers and companies to multiple AI models through a single API and interface. Bankless writer David Christopher said the deal can be viewed through the lens of growing payment demand from AI agents. OpenRouter charges a 5.5 percent fee when users top up credits and had annualised revenue of about $140 million as of late July.
