RippleX engineering chief J. Ayo Akinyele (아요 아킨옐레) publicly asked Elon Musk to support Ripple’s stablecoin RLUSD on X Money.

On Aug. 11 local time, blockchain outlet U.Today reported that after receiving an X Money transfer from Musk, Akinyele asked when RLUSD support would be added. He also claimed that XRP could be included among supported assets in the future.

Akinyele thanked Musk for sending $25 to his X Money account and asked, "When should we expect RLUSD support?" After another user said XRP support was also needed, he replied that "if we can just get Musk’s attention, XRP can certainly be integrated," adding, "There is no doubt."

The remarks come as X Money expands into financial services. X, formerly known as Twitter, launched X Money in the United States and is currently offering the service only to invited users among paying subscribers. Users can store funds and make real-time person-to-person transfers.

X also introduced a Visa-branded debit card. Banking infrastructure is provided by Cross River Bank. X Money is focused on expanding beyond transfers into a comprehensive financial platform that lets users store funds and handle payments and transfers.

Musk has said he wants to grow X into an "everything app." But X Money is currently built around traditional finance and payment functions. Even dogecoin, which Musk has long shown interest in, was not included during the launch process.

Ripple is actively using RLUSD as an asset for payment infrastructure. The company stressed in June that RLUSD and XRP can be used in X402-based payments, and has expanded RLUSD’s institutional payment use through partnerships with Mastercard, WebBank and Gemini, among others.

In this context, Akinyele’s public request aligns with Ripple’s payment strategy. If X Money moves to support cryptocurrencies or stablecoins, RLUSD could be mentioned as a candidate dollar-based payment asset within the platform.

Still, it is difficult for now to predict whether the assets will actually be added. X Money is still operated around traditional payment functions, and X has not officially disclosed any plan to support cryptocurrencies. Whether RLUSD and XRP are supported is expected to depend on how far X expands its financial services.
