The Korea Fintech Industry Association is joining hands with XRPL Korea to support domestic fintech companies in identifying and commercialising new digital asset-based businesses.

The association said on Sept. 3 it signed a business agreement with XRPL Korea on Aug. 20. The two sides plan to cooperate so member companies and other domestic firms can verify digital asset business ideas, run proof-of-concept work and move on to actual service implementation.

They will run joint programmes focusing on payments, remittances and settlement, stablecoins, tokenisation of real-world assets, and digital asset-based financial infrastructure. They will seek business models that can be applied to each company’s existing services and customer base. If needed, they will also link follow-up cooperation with domestic and overseas financial institutions and the global XRPL ecosystem.

As their first joint programme, the two held a digital asset open innovation event in Seoul’s Yeouido district on Aug. 26. For companies selected through a written evaluation, they carried out one-on-one business and technology reviews, PoC design and technical mentoring.

Depending on outcomes and separate screening results, they will also review a non-equity support programme of up to $200,000 and follow-up links with the global XRPL ecosystem and domestic financial institutions.

The open innovation event also included t54, which develops infrastructure based on x402, an agent payment standard. t54 provides technology for verifying the identity of AI agents and validating transaction risks, and reviewed the possibility of cooperation with participating companies in agentic payments.

A Fintech Industry Association official said, "We will support member companies so they can develop digital asset ideas into tangible business opportunities."
