Schwartz steps back from Ripple but stays engaged with XRP Ledger

Ripple honorary chief technology officer David Schwartz has suggested he remains connected to the XRP Ledger ecosystem despite stepping back from day-to-day work at Ripple. He said he worked a few hours and held Zoom calls with the team as developers addressed a recent XRPL network issue. XRPL developers released version 3.2.1 to fix a manifest flood vulnerability. The extent of Schwartz’s direct involvement was not disclosed.

Tesla expands in-car browser video meeting support beyond Zoom to Teams and Google Meet

Tesla has expanded its in-car web browser functions to support a wider range of video meeting services, including Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Discord, beyond its previous Zoom-focused offering. The Summer 2026 software update adds a feature that allows the vehicle browser to request camera and microphone access for web-based services. The feature is limited to vehicles equipped with AMD-based infotainment systems, excluding some models from 2022 and earlier that use Intel-based systems.

AirPods all-day use may raise hearing damage risk as 60-60 rule gains attention

Wearing AirPods all day could increase the risk of hearing damage, IT outlet Engadget reported on July 28. Users may not notice cumulative harm even as earbud use spreads across daily routines from podcasts and commuting to video meetings. The report highlighted a “60-60 rule”: keep volume at 60 percent or less of the maximum and avoid more than 60 minutes of continuous use. The WHO and U.S. researchers have warned of growing noise-related risks, especially among younger people.
