KB Financial builds linked credit, psychological and legal support system for voice phishing victims
KB Financial Group will support the psychological and financial recovery of victims of voice phishing and other telecommunications financial fraud. It signed an MOU with the Korean National Police Agency and the Credit Recovery Committee to strengthen prevention and victim support. Under the agreement, police will produce and distribute prevention content and run support schemes, while the Credit Recovery Committee will provide credit counselling and link victims to psychological and legal services. The service starts June 1.

Toss Bank, Korean National Police launch financial fraud prevention officers to curb voice phishing
Toss Bank and the Korean National Police are launching community-based financial fraud prevention activities that draw on retired police officers’ investigative experience. The bank said it held the inauguration ceremony for the first class of “Our Neighborhood Financial Fraud Prevention Officers” with the police agency’s integrated response unit for telecommunications financial fraud. The public-private project targets voice phishing and investment scams through tailored, case-based education and community patrols.

Kakao teams up with Korean police to eradicate phishing, swiftly block suspicious accounts
Kakao will build a broad response system to curb phishing by using the Korean National Police Agency’s latest crime data to swiftly block suspected accounts on its platforms. The two sides signed an agreement on Wednesday to prevent and eradicate phishing-related 피해, including voice phishing and investment “leading rooms”. Kakao will reflect police information in its policies and user-protection processes and immediately apply protective measures when reports are filed.
