PS5 prices rise, digital edition up $200 in six years amid memory shortages

Sony\'s PlayStation 5 prices have risen sharply rather than falling late in the console cycle, Engadget reported. The PS5 Digital Edition increased to $599 from $399 over six years, while the disc model rose to $649 from $499. Sony changed the lineup with the Slim model without performance gains and implemented two rounds of price hikes in 2025 and 2026. The report cited industry-wide NAND and RAM shortages and rising memory costs as key factors.

KT Millie’s Library makes available three major works by Nobel Literature laureate Anne Carson

KT Millie’s Library said it is offering three major works by Canadian writer Anne Carson, the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature laureate, through its subscription service. It released “The Beauty of the Husband,” “Autobiography of Red” and “Red Doc>” on Oct. 12, shortly after the Nobel announcement. The service also opened an “All-Time Legend” corner featuring works by past Nobel literature winners.

PC AI race intensifies as big tech joins local, on-device push

Moves by major technology companies targeting local, on-device AI that runs on standard hardware are accelerating, with Microsoft joining Nvidia in an aggressive push. Microsoft unveiled a new Surface Laptop Ultra with Nvidia AI chips and highlighted “hybrid intelligence” that splits AI work between PCs and the cloud.
