Discord chats to appear on Google search results: how to stop your messages being made public

Discord is changing its policy to make conversations in some large public servers searchable on Google and other search engines. The change applies to discoverable servers with at least 1,000 members, open to join without an invite and listed in Discord’s public directory. From Nov. 16, Discord plans to provide web pages and post summaries of public-channel chats. From mid-December, individual messages may also appear, without usernames or avatars.

Apple acknowledges iPhone Duo inner screen breakage, offers replacements

Apple has acknowledged reports of inner screen damage on its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, and said affected devices can be replaced through AppleCare. Users have reported bright horizontal lines near the hinge or cracked screens after folding and unfolding, and some cases of pixel damage along the fold. Apple did not disclose the scale or cause. Repairing the inner screen out of warranty costs $999, Apple’s website shows.

Ripple\'s Schwartz says blanket AI filtering to stop XRP scams threatens free speech

Ripple honorary chief technology officer David Schwartz opposes blanket AI content filtering aimed at blocking cryptocurrency scams. He says automatically screening out scam posts can threaten free speech and weaken the community\'s ability to spot and share new threats. Schwartz argues platforms should both block scams and preserve risk-information sharing. He also criticises AI-led automatic deletion based on suspected deception and urges caution on expanding platform liability for criminal acts.
