NH Investment Securities to raise 400 billion won from Nonghyup Financial to strengthen IMA business
NH Investment Securities will launch a 400 billion won paid-in capital increase allocated to its largest shareholder, NH Nonghyup Financial Group. The move aims to strengthen capital to expand its comprehensive investment account (IMA) business, corporate finance linked to it and venture-capital investments. The firm said its net capital ratio was 159.3 percent in the first quarter. Part of the funds will also be used to expand retail credit provision limits.

Hwang Seong-yeop (황성엽), head of the Korea Financial Investment Association, presented a 10-year blueprint for South Korea’s capital markets and five priority tasks on his 100th day in office. Brokerages net profit nears 10 trillion won in 2025 on stock market rally
South Korean brokerages posted record results in 2025 as a rally in the domestic stock market lifted fee income, the Financial Supervisory Service said. Net profit at 61 brokerages rose 38.9 percent from a year earlier to 9.65 trillion won, exceeding the previous peak in 2021. Fee income climbed to 16.62 trillion won, led by higher brokerage commissions. Total assets rose to 943.9 trillion won, while capital adequacy ratios improved.
