Value-added telecom services revenue enters 500 trillion won range as digital platforms become part of daily life
South Korea\'s value-added telecommunications services kept growing, with 2024 revenue estimated at 502.9 trillion won, up 15.3 percent from a year earlier, a government survey showed. Digital platform services generated 161.5 trillion won, accounting for 32.1 percent of the total and rising 5.4 percent. The survey also found broad use of AI, big data and cybersecurity, and examined user behaviour across platform types and subscription-based bundling of OTT and e-commerce services.

Naver Pay, Kakao Pay begin applications for second-round high oil price relief funds
Naver Pay and Kakao Pay have started accepting applications for the second round of high oil price relief funds. The programme targets 70 percent of the population and runs from May 18 to July 3. Naver Pay linked the process to Naver Search and maps and allows benefits to be received as Npay points, money or a prepaid money card. Kakao Pay enables applications via KakaoTalk and supports multiple payment methods. Both are running applicant events.

Korea Credit Data\'s Cashnote launches AI review management to detect malicious reviews
Korea Credit Data\'s small business management service Cashnote has launched an AI review management service featuring malicious review detection and reply recommendations. The company said it added an AI comment-management function tailored for small merchants. The service was developed to reduce the burden of managing reviews on delivery platforms and map services. Cashnote\'s AI filters negative reviews, analyzes sentiment in five levels and provides reply examples in four tones, with daily alerts.
