Anthropic releases 2030 U.S. jobs and GDP scenarios as growth brings employment shock
Anthropic published a webpage outlining three economic scenarios for how AI could affect U.S. employment and GDP by 2030. It said AI may boost productivity and expand the economy while hurting knowledge-worker jobs and wages. The scenarios range from a mild impact similar to the internet to a radical case in which AI outperforms humans in most knowledge work. Anthropic projected higher GDP but warned of job transitions, higher unemployment risks and a declining labor share in the radical case.

Cardano founder shocked by advances in AI mathematical proofing
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said AI is advancing faster than expected, reaching a level where it can generate complex mathematical proofs and formally verify them. He highlighted AI-generated claims tied to the Navier-Stokes equations, a Millennium Prize problem, and said he did not anticipate AI completing proofs directly. Hoskinson warned that the provenance of AI-generated results and protection of research data need scrutiny, calling for private AI environments to safeguard sensitive information and intellectual property.
