iPadOS 27 lets iPad work more like a Mac with two new features

Apple\'s iPad operating system iPadOS 27 is set for release next month and changes system-wide usability, including how the menu bar and search are accessed. The update adds an option to keep the top menu bar always visible and keeps the active app name shown in the status area. It also expands the Command-Space shortcut so Spotlight can provide both search and Siri AI functions through a single entry point.

Apple releases iOS 26.6, focuses on security and preparing for iOS 27

Apple has released version 26.6 of its operating systems for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV. The update focuses on security fixes, bug repairs and groundwork for iOS 27 and macOS 27 expected this fall, rather than major new features. Apple said it is optimising the Spotlight index to prepare for iOS 27. The release also adds an alert when blocked contacts hit the limit and includes extensive security updates, including more than 150 items for macOS 26.6.

Apple Intelligence secures China approval to link with Alibaba Qwen AI

Apple Intelligence has received approval to launch in China by linking with Alibaba’s Qwen AI, TechCrunch reported. China’s internet regulator approved Apple’s AI service in the country based on the partnership with Alibaba. Apple plans to integrate Qwen into iOS, iPadOS, macOS and visionOS. Apple recorded $20.5 billion in revenue in Greater China in the second quarter, up 28 percent from a year earlier.
