Apple has rolled out iOS 27.0.1, an update that fixes bugs in iOS 27, Apple-focused outlet 9to5Mac reported on Sunday.
The update centres on fixing a Face ID error on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Some users experienced an issue in which a failed Face ID attempt caused the device to restart unexpectedly. Apple promised a fix this week and resolved it with this update.
It also fixed an issue in which photos taken on some iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max devices under certain lighting conditions showed colour distortion when shot at an f/1.48 aperture with 2x zoom. The update also fixes a bug that made the touchscreen unresponsive when Notification Center and Control Center were opened at the same time. The issue affects all iPhone models.
iOS 27 was officially released 2 weeks ago. As every year, bugs not found during beta testing surfaced after the public release. Since Apple release notes do not include every change, older iPhones are also expected to benefit from additional bug fixes.
The update can be installed via Settings, General, Software Update. iPadOS 27.0.1 for iPad was also released the same day, focusing on bug fixes.
