Meta's personal AI agent Muse has begun native support for the iPad, expanding the devices it can be used on.
On Oct. 7 (local time), IT media outlet The Verge reported that Meta added an iPad interface through the latest Muse iOS app update. The functions are similar to the iPhone version, but optimised for the larger screen and iPadOS multitasking environment. After launching on mobile last month and rolling out a Mac version, it has expanded support to Apple's tablets.
Muse is a personal AI agent that goes beyond simple Q&A to browse the web and carry out reservations, purchases and document creation on a user's behalf. When a user presents a goal, it creates a multi-step execution plan and continues tasks using connected apps and services. It requires user approval for actions such as sending important messages or making purchases.
The update also significantly increases external service connections. It supports Canva, Dropbox, Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub, Zoom, Asana and Klaviyo, and also adds Granola and Notion connectors.
Meta is expanding how Muse can be used, especially with small business owners in mind. Users enter business goals and Muse sets plans needed for marketing strategies, customer proposals and building product pages, then carries out related tasks. Meta is expanding this as a group of features called "Muse for Small Business."
After its release last month, Muse rose to No. 1 among free apps on Apple's App Store, and a Mac app was later released. On Mac, it also supports desktop tasks such as file organisation and integration with browsers, messages and calendars.
Meta is also expanding Muse to smart glasses and has also previewed a small standalone AI device called Muse Charm. Unlike Instagram, which took about 15 years to release an iPad-only app, Muse expanded to iPad within a month of launch, accelerating efforts to expand the AI agent ecosystem.
