hy combines equity, production and IP into one in new overseas business model
hy, formerly Korea Yakult, is expanding globally through a joint business model that combines equity investment, production and intellectual property. Through its U.S. joint venture HYH America with HYBE and Paldo, it has launched a new food and beverage brand, ARIH, developed from the planning stage with BTS. The brand begins sales at Walmart in the United States from April 24, with a South Korea launch planned for late next month.

SK On signs three-year long-term lithium contract with Posco
SK On said on Tuesday it signed a long-term lithium purchase contract with Posco Group. Under the deal, SK On will receive up to 25,000 tons of lithium from Posco Argentina, Posco Group\'s lithium production unit in Argentina, from 2026 to 2028. The lithium will be produced at the Hombre Muerto salt lake in Salta province. SK On plans to use it for EV battery projects in Europe and North America and is reviewing use in ESS products.

K-food push drives Korean foodmakers to seek growth overseas
South Korean food companies are seeking growth abroad as a prolonged domestic slowdown weighs on sales. K-food items such as instant noodles, dumplings and snacks are leading the expansion. Samyang Foods’ exports account for about 80 percent of sales, supported by the global popularity of its Buldak series. CJ CheilJedang, Orion and Dongwon F&B are also relying on overseas subsidiaries to cushion weak demand at home and manage earnings volatility.
