Horse Powertrain, a joint venture between Renault and Geely Automobile, unveiled an integrated powertrain system that can convert EVs into hybrids, plug-in hybrids and extended-range EVs while keeping an EV-only platform. InsideEVs reported the company introduced the X-Range C15 Direct Drive, designed to replace a rear electric motor and reduce structural changes and investment. The unit integrates a gasoline engine, transmission and two motors, supports all-wheel drive and can add power electronics options.
