Meta AI data centre construction boosts sales, tax revenue in rural U.S. areas
A farm-focused area of Louisiana is seeing an unexpected boom from Meta’s construction of its Hyperion AI data centre in Holly Ridge, as thousands of workers support demand for restaurants, cafes, water supplies and housing rentals. Meta is investing more than $50 billion and expects over 7,500 workers at peak construction. Local sales tax revenue has risen sharply, though the long-term outlook remains uncertain once building work ends.

SOOP joins Creator Media Fair with offline content programmes
SOOP said on Aug. 27 it will take part in the 2026 Creator Media Fair on Aug. 28 to 29 at COEX Magok in Seoul. It will run offline programmes where streamers and users meet in person, including mukbang and cooking shows, venue tours and a tarot experience. The company will also operate a consultation zone for aspiring streamers, offering one-on-one guidance on registration and technical support.

KB Financial expands YouTube healing content \'Star Room\' to offline events
KB Financial Group is expanding its YouTube healing content series \"A Room Called by Stars\" into offline performances. The group will hold its first offline concert, \"Star Room Sleepover,\" on July 26 at KB Kookmin Bank\'s new building in Seoul\'s Yeouido. The sleep concert replaces chairs with mattresses for attendees to listen to live music while lying down. Three teams will perform for about three hours.
