KB Financial Group said on Monday it will hold a special youth recruitment drive for “KB Good Food Truck Season 2” to help young small business owners build stable operating foundations and to boost local economies.
KB Good Food Truck is KB Financial’s corporate social responsibility programme that improves aging facilities for food-truck operators and provides tailored on-site support to help small merchants become self-reliant and grow. It also supports food-truck operators active at local festivals and in alley and neighbourhood commercial areas, contributing to revitalising local and regional economies.
The special youth recruitment targets food-truck operators under 34 and will select a total of 30 additional people. Those chosen will receive support to improve aging vehicles and cooking equipment, along with one-on-one tailored marketing consulting from experts to strengthen business competitiveness.
KB Financial selected 50 food trucks for support through the first Season 2 recruitment in October last year. With this special youth recruitment, Season 2 will expand to a total of 80 trucks, and a total of 140 food trucks will be supported when including the 60 supported under Season 1.
A KB Financial official said, "Food trucks are a small-business sector that meets consumers most closely in everyday settings such as local festivals and alley commercial districts." The official added, "We will continue practical support so young owners can reduce the difficulties they face in starting and operating businesses and continue their businesses stably within their communities."
