Gopax appoints former AWS Korea executive Kim Na-young as CEO
Digital asset exchange Gopax has appointed Kim Na-young, former head of financial business development at Amazon Web Services Korea, as its new chief executive. The company plans to speed up efforts to resolve long-unsettled unpaid GoFi customer funds, normalise management and prepare to renew its virtual asset service provider registration. Operator Streami announced the appointment on July 27, and said major shareholder Binance will support the turnaround work.

Korean stock volatility drives retail investors back to U.S. markets
Repeated sharp swings in South Korea\'s stock market are pushing retail money back into U.S. equities. Credit-financed stock balances and unsettled trading receivables have fallen, while investor deposits remain above 100 trillion won. Retail investors turned from heavy buying of SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics to net selling in late July. Net buying of U.S. shares surged, led by the 3-times leveraged semiconductor ETF SOXL. A lower won-dollar exchange rate also reduced costs.

Mirae Asset acquires Korbit, rebrands it as Digital X
Mirae Asset is acquiring digital asset exchange Korbit and will change its name to Digital X. The group plans to combine Mirae Asset’s financial business experience with Korbit’s digital asset expertise to build an investment platform spanning real-world asset tokenisation, security token offerings and stablecoins. Chairman Park Hyun-joo said Digital X will be a key pillar for “Mirae Asset 3.0” and stressed compliance, internal controls and user protection.
