Mega project to begin 353 trillion won investment this year; Lee says blitz over speed campaign
South Korea\'s government said it will accelerate a mega project, with 353 trillion won in investments set to begin this year through construction starts or facility expansions. President Lee Jae-myung called for parallel procedures, shorter timelines and regulatory improvements, and ordered steps to enable early use of the Gwangju military airport site as a semiconductor industrial complex. The plan also detailed power and water supply schedules and expanded support measures for robots, parts suppliers and smaller firms.

SK hynix to invest 54 trillion won in Yongin, Cheongju to expand DRAM and NAND fabs
SK hynix will build two new chip fabrication plants in Yongin and Cheongju and invest about 54 trillion won, after a board resolution on Aug. 7. It plans 35.2 trillion won for Yongin Y2 and 19.1 trillion won for Cheongju M17. Yongin will be a DRAM base and Cheongju a NAND base. The company said it decided after closely reviewing demand and will phase spending through 2031.

SK hynix set to raise up to 43 trillion won from Nasdaq ADR listing
SK hynix is set to list American depositary receipts on Nasdaq on July 10 local time, aiming to raise up to about 43 trillion won, or around $28 billion. It will issue 17.79 million new ADRs under a 10-to-1 structure, trading as SKHY. Strong institutional demand has been reported. The company plans to use proceeds for major facility investment including fabs, advanced packaging and EUV tools, while pursuing shareholder returns.
