Ku Hyuk-chae pledges support for young researchers to pursue tech startup dreams

Ku Hyuk-chae (구혁채), first vice minister at South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT, visited Seoul Bio Hub on Tuesday to review on-site support for young entrepreneurs at the Seoul Hongneung research and development special zone. The visit was part of the ministry\'s Project Empathy 118 programme. Ku toured a tenant startup and held talks with young founders from the GRaND-K Startup School, discussing government support policies and improvements across the startup ecosystem.

Banks in South Korea step up tailored hiring for second half, from regional sales to AI and security

South Korea\'s banks are ramping up open recruitment for the second half of the year, refining hiring by job type rather than selecting general candidates in bulk. Major lenders are keeping a framework focused on finance and sales staffing while carving out separate tracks for regional sales, corporate finance, AI and platform development, information security and accounting. Some are also adding or expanding specialist and global tracks and recruiting experienced professionals alongside entry-level hires.

KT launches Y 10th anniversary campaign with popular YouTube creators

KT is launching a participatory campaign to mark the 10th anniversary of its Y brand for customers in their 20s, under which customers and popular YouTube creators will produce content together. KT said on Wednesday it will work with YouTube on the project. The programme includes an uninhabited-island survival trip with KwakTube, a volleyball class with Kim Yeon-koung, a 10 km completion challenge with Sean, and an eating-showdown with Tzuyang.
