Solana triples transaction data capacity, upgrades performance amid record network activity

Solana has increased the amount of data that can be included in a single transaction by more than threefold and is pursuing a shorter block production interval to improve network performance. It applied a new transaction format, V1, expanding the payload limit to 4,096 bytes. Solana is also moving to cut mainnet slot time to 250 milliseconds on Sept. 18, after gradual reductions. Network usage, stablecoin activity and application revenue have risen.
