LG Electronics Q1 operating profit 1.67 trillion won, up 32.9 percent year on year
LG Electronics said on Tuesday its first-quarter operating profit rose 32.9 percent from a year earlier to 1.67 trillion won, while revenue increased 4.3 percent to a record 23.73 trillion won for a first quarter. Revenue slipped 0.5 percent from the previous quarter, but operating profit returned to positive territory from a 109.0 billion won loss. Net profit rose 14.8 percent to 1.01 trillion won.

PC DRAM price rise slows, demand broadening in focus
Global PC shipments rose 4 percent in the first quarter from a year earlier, defying expectations of weakening demand, as suppliers and distributors built inventory ahead of higher memory costs, Gartner said.
