Naver to tighten remote work rules next year, introduces prior consultation for Type R

Naver will revamp its work system from January next year to require employees to consult their organisation heads before choosing Type R, a work format with a higher share of remote work. Under its Connected Work programme, employees have been able to choose between Type O, which requires office attendance on average at least three times a week, and Type R, which is based on remote work with in-person collaboration at least four times a month.

Govt unveils \'K-Palantir\' strategy, targets five unicorns by 2030

South Korea\'s Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Defence Ministry and the Korea Aerospace Administration said they will foster five new security companies valued at 1 trillion won or more and 50 innovation firms with sales of at least 100 billion won by 2030. The government plans to designate strategic areas such as drones, defence AI and semiconductors, space and cyber security. It will also revamp procurement, expand R&D funding and set up a Korea-style In-Q-Tel.

Full-cycle review system for infrastructure R&D to launch with expert review panel

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on May 11 it has completed work to overhaul a \"full-cycle review system\" and will begin full-scale operation after the abolition of preliminary feasibility studies for R&D. The ministry said the system for infrastructure-type R&D shifts from pre-verification focused mainly on economic viability to step-by-step management from planning to completion. It applies to projects costing 100 billion won or more, with at least 50 billion won in state funding.
