Circle ahead of Coinbase renegotiation; Japan\'s Mizuho Securities warns on USDC profit model
Mizuho Securities in Japan cut its investment rating on USDC issuer Circle to underperform from neutral, warning that competition could intensify and USDC could become more commoditised if a U.S. Clarity bill passes. Gold share in central bank reserves overtakes U.S. Treasuries for first time
Gold has overtaken U.S. Treasuries in global central bank reserve assets for the first time, the European Central Bank said. As of end-2025, gold accounted for 27 percent of reserves, exceeding the 22 percent share of U.S. government and Treasury bonds. Gold’s share rose from 20 percent a year earlier, while U.S. Treasuries fell from 25 percent. The ECB cited geopolitics and sanctions risks as key drivers.

XRP Ledger is expanding quickly in the real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation market, challenging an Ethereum-centred landscape. It took XRPL 15 months to reach $400 million in tokenised assets, versus 36 months for Ethereum. Data showed growth concentrated in short periods driven by a large issuer, while Ethereum inflows were more dispersed. In enterprise-focused tokenisation, XRPL has overtaken Algorand, Mantle and Aptos, though Ethereum remains far larger overall.
