Toss launches dormant deposit recovery service with SDFa
Viva Republica, operator of the Toss app, has launched a service that lets users check and reclaim dormant deposits scattered across multiple financial institutions in one place. Toss said on June 5 it rolled out the service with the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency. Users can apply remotely without submitting documents or visiting institutions, and approved amounts are paid immediately as Toss Pay Money. The service covers dormant deposits of 500,000 won or less.

Toss signs MOU with Korea Franchise Industry Association to expand Facepay
Viva Republica, operator of Toss, has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with the Korea Franchise Industry Association to promote payment innovation in the franchise sector centred on its face-recognition payment service, Facepay. The agreement was signed in Seoul on April 13. The association will support adoption among member companies, while Toss will provide payment infrastructure and technology. The two sides also plan joint promotion, initial technical support and training programmes.

Major commercial banks will operate temporary outlets on key expressways, while some will run fraud-prevention campaigns. Fintech platforms are offering rewards, points and quizzes tied to holiday spending, and Toss will fully support certain online merchants\' payment fees for a limited period.
