Smilegate launches official service for \'Eclipse: The Awakening\'

Smilegate said on Wednesday it has begun official service for \'Eclipse: The Awakening,\' an MMORPG developed by Npixel. The game is available on both PC and mobile and supports cross-play between the two platforms. Smilegate has also launched in-game events tied to character growth and equipment acquisition, along with payment promotions. Offline, it is partnering with Saenghwalmaekju to sell related products through Oct. 11 and provide in-game coupons to set buyers.

Toss to offer prepaid cards to foreign students to support payments before opening bank accounts

Viva Republica, operator of Toss, will offer prepaid cards to foreign students who face difficulties using financial services before opening bank accounts in South Korea. Toss said on Aug. 27 it will provide the cards to newly enrolled foreign students through international offices at 15 universities nationwide. The cards can be topped up without a domestic bank account, including with cash at CU convenience stores, and used for offline and online payments.

Toss joins hands with Togethers to roll out Facepay at 5,000 marts nationwide

Viva Republica, operator of Toss, will roll out its facial payment service Facepay at about 5,000 small and midsized marts nationwide in partnership with POS solution provider Togethers. Toss said it signed a business agreement with Togethers on July 24 in Seoul. The companies plan to apply Toss Pay payments at stores using Togethers\' TogetherPOS system and sequentially install Toss Front terminals that support facial payments.
