Smilegate said on Wednesday it has begun official service for 'Eclipse: The Awakening,' an MMORPG developed by Npixel.
Eclipse is available on PC and mobile at the same time and supports cross-play between the two platforms. It can be accessed via the official website on PC and through Google Play and Apple's App Store on mobile.
It also launched in-game events to support growth and equipment acquisition to coincide with the release. In 'PD Lee's Surprise Gift,' users who obtain 100 transcendences and 100 weapon appearances, respectively, by Oct. 31 will receive a guaranteed hero-grade transcendence and weapon appearance.
In the eight-week 'Hero's Path,' it provides hero-grade weapons and transcendences, weapon appearances and armor depending on the number of missions completed. Users who complete seven days of attendance by the 23rd will receive a 'rare transcendence guaranteed ticket.'
It also runs programs including growth-currency payouts through equipment enhancement and item-collection missions, daily attendance rewards and accumulated PC cafe access rewards. Pre-registered participants can receive items including a rare-grade 'transcendence summon ticket' and a 'weapon appearance selection ticket.'
It is also running payment promotions. On Google Play, users who pay through carrier billing methods will be offered carrier-specific bill discounts or accumulated payment discount benefits. Toss Pay users can receive cashback and Toss points if they make a first payment or pay at least a set amount by the 16th.
Offline, it is partnering with Saenghwalmaekju. Through Oct. 11, it will sell 'Eclipse beer' and the 'Eclipse set' at company-owned stores nationwide and at some franchise stores, and provide in-game coupons to set buyers.
Jae-ik Shin (신재익), a director at Smilegate, said, "Eclipse is a title developed so that users can enjoy it in their own way and at their own pace while maintaining the fundamental fun of an MMORPG," adding, "We will continue to listen to users' voices."
