KT said on Tuesday it will run the 'KT Easy Payment 7th Anniversary Lucky 7 Event' throughout July to mark the seventh anniversary of its easy-payment telecom bill payment service.

Customers who immediately pay at least 10,000 won of KT telecom charges through Kakao Pay, Naver Pay, Toss Pay or Payco will be automatically entered without a separate application.

KT will draw 7,777 winners to receive 7,000 points from the easy-payment provider used for the payment. It will also give 3.75 grams of pure gold to 7 winners. The prizes are scheduled to be provided by late August.

KT's easy-payment telecom bill payment service, which it launched in 2019 as the first in the telecom industry, has topped 350 trillion won in cumulative payments. More than 75 percent of users are in their 20s and 30s. KT expanded its partners from Kakao Pay in September 2019 to include Naver Pay, Toss Pay and Payco.

It provides an 'immediate payment' service that lets customers pay charges when needed and an 'automatic payment' service that charges a registered account each month. KT said it is the only telecom carrier in South Korea that supports both immediate and automatic payments for the four major easy-payment providers.

Park Soo-hong (박수홍), executive director and head of KT's Financial Support Center, said the easy-payment telecom bill payment service has topped 350 trillion won in cumulative payments on the back of customer use. He said KT will continue to expand convenient payment experiences and differentiated customer benefits.
