Bitcoin could reach as high as $1 million by 2030; three key variables may shape price

Control seen as key test in DeFi regulation as SEC and CFTC draw lines

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce said peer-to-peer transactions carried out through unpermissioned smart contracts do not need a separate legal exemption. Recent SEC and CFTC actions focus on where actual control remains, including who can designate pools, deploy contracts, change parameters, set fees or halt trading. The SEC has also addressed front-end interfaces and compensation. The CFTC offered broader allowances under limited trading structures while barring custody and discretionary execution.

Eugene Investment & Securities to test stablecoin payments for STO subscription funds with VTOZ

Eugene Investment & Securities will work with blockchain company VTOZ to verify a method for paying subscription funds for tokenised securities using stablecoins. The two companies signed an MOU to review the scope and ways to apply stablecoins in securities operations. They plan a proof of concept for stablecoins used in subscription-fund settlement and will consider infrastructure integration and further cooperation based on the results.
