KT steps up enterprise AX push as CEO Park Yoon-young sets direction
KT is making its management direction clearer more than 100 days after Park Yoon-young took office as chief executive, putting an “AX platform company” focused on supporting corporate customers’ AI transformation at the center. KT has announced investment plans for information security, IT innovation, next-generation networks, AI data centres and subsea cables, and is pitching a “token factory” business. It is also positioning its in-house AI model for enterprise use and widening cooperation with global and domestic AI firms.

KT promotes \'token factory\' to manage AI usage as new revenue model
KT will make tokens, an emerging economic unit in the AI era, a key pillar of its future new business. It plans to expand its revenue model with a “token factory” that optimises AI usage and supports faster settlement, drawing on billing expertise built in telecommunications. KT plans to build a token gateway for routing and charging, combine it with 1 GW of distributed AI data centres and a token optimisation engine, and develop a platform supporting token generation, brokering and billing.

KT bets on AX with 18 trillion won investment over three years to grow AIDC and token factory
KT set out a new vision to move beyond its role as a key national telecommunications operator and become an \"AI transition (AX) platform company.\" It plans to expand AI data centres and pursue new businesses such as a token factory and stablecoins. KT will invest about 12 trillion won over three years in information security, IT and networks, and about 5 trillion won to add 1GW of AIDC capacity. It will also invest 1 trillion won to expand undersea cable capacity.
