Trend AI unveils AI security platform run in customer data centres

Trend AI integrated Nvidia open-weight AI model Nemotron into its Vision One Sovereign and Private Cloud security platform, Techzine reported on Thursday. The integration allows AI features such as support for threat investigations and agent-based security information and event management to run entirely in customer-managed environments. Vision One SPC runs in private clouds, sovereign clouds and on-premises setups, letting customers control model location, version and access without external inference services.

Apple develops Minions to pool idle Mac GPUs for AI cloud

Apple has developed a system called Minions that pools unused GPU capacity from Macs and applies it to AI workloads, Techzine reported on Tuesday. The system finds available computing resources and automatically splits tasks across multiple devices, factoring in Macs that are offline or already running at peak performance. Apple researchers said Minions is used mainly for AI inference, and multiple internal teams already use it. Data security remains a challenge.

Thales, Google Cloud team up on AI agent security to support real-time monitoring and control

French defence and security company Thales will expand cooperation with Google Cloud, Techzine reported on Sept. 29. Thales will combine its AI Security Fabric with Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. The aim is to help companies protect, manage and monitor in real time interactions among users, agents, models and tools. Thales said AI agents create new attack paths that existing security architectures struggle to block, and cited risks including prompt injection and sensitive data leakage.
