Okta and Google Cloud are expanding their partnership with a focus on strengthening AI agent and browser security, Techzine reported on June 16.
The companies will protect AI agents through "Auth0 for AI Agents" and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform runtime. Web browsers will be protected with Chrome Enterprise.
Okta launched its "Okta for AI Agents" platform in April to discover AI agents, manage access permissions and block them immediately when needed. Integration with Google Gemini Enterprise provides enterprise-grade functions to verify AI agent identities and manage access permissions through the platform.
Integration with Auth0 for AI Agents includes five functions. User authentication allows only verified users to run agents. Token Vault securely stores OAuth tokens so agents can act on behalf of users. Human-in-the-loop routes sensitive tasks to an employee approval step. Fine-grained authorization (FGA) ensures agents perform only actions permitted for users. MCP authentication lets companies add access controls to MCP servers.
Okta explained that these functions will help deploy agents more quickly into real operating environments.
