Starknet community backs review of shift to \'quantum-resistant layer 1\'
The Starknet community overwhelmingly backed a proposal to review a plan to shift the Ethereum layer 2 network into an independent layer 1, The Block reported on Wednesday. In a seven-day Snapshot vote that closed on Wednesday morning, more than 93.5 percent of voting power supported the proposal, with about 2,800 wallets taking part. StarkWare did not vote and left the decision to the community. Further research and another vote by STRK holders would be required for an actual transition.

Starknet starts vote on reviewing shift to layer 1
Starknet token holders have started a vote on whether to examine converting the Ethereum layer 2 network into an independent layer 1 blockchain to prepare for quantum computing threats, The Block reported on Oct. 15. The vote runs for seven days. As of the Snapshot tally, 177.6 million STRK tokens participated, with 99.91 percent in favor. Even if it passes, the network would not switch immediately.

StarkWare launches OffMarket to hide Polymarket betting activity
StarkWare has released OffMarket, a privacy service for Polymarket users, The Block reported on Oct. 14. The service lets users trade on Polymarket without publicly linking their accounts to their positions. OffMarket has operated on a limited basis since August and uses StarkNet zero-knowledge technology, with a per-account deposit limit of 1,000 USDC that StarkWare may adjust based on demand. Polymarket trades are recorded on Polygon.
