StarkWare and Sui have released a new privacy feature that allows audits and regulatory responses while concealing transaction information.

Cointelegraph reported on June 9 that StarkWare launched STRK20, an ERC-20 token privacy framework for StarkNet. The feature can mask user balances and transaction data, but allows information to be disclosed in certain situations.

StarkWare co-founder and CEO Eli Ben-Sasson (엘리 벤사손) said STRK20 itself does not mean it can determine legal compliance or guarantee regulatory approval. Cointelegraph reported that STRK20 is premised on conditional privacy, not absolute anonymity.

Sui also began an open beta for a private transfer feature. It supports authorised parties checking information when needed for audits or regulatory compliance while keeping transfer amounts hidden.

TechCrunch reported that privacy technologies in the cryptocurrency industry are shifting toward combining disclosure and oversight mechanisms rather than complete anonymity.
