xAI integrates into SpaceX AI division SpaceXAI, accelerating space data centre plan

Elon Musk announced he is dismantling the standalone corporate structure of AI company xAI and integrating it into SpaceX’s internal AI organisation, SpaceXAI. The move formalises an integration plan Musk flagged in February and is expected to connect xAI’s AI technology more directly with SpaceX’s core businesses, including Starlink and Starship. SpaceX mulls option to acquire AI startup Cursor, will continue cooperation

SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, has signed a contract with AI startup Cursor that secures the right to acquire Cursor for $60 billion by the end of this year, CNBC reported on April 21. The contract also includes an alternative option for SpaceX to pay $10 billion as compensation for work the two companies carry out together instead of pursuing an acquisition. SpaceX said on X that SpaceXAI and Cursor are working closely to build top-tier coding and knowledge-work AI.
