SpaceXAI, SpaceX's artificial intelligence (AI) organization, is reportedly preparing a plan to revamp subscription plans for social media platform X, formerly Twitter, and the Grok chatbot into an integrated four-tier structure. The top plan is expected to cost about $100 a month (about 135,000 won).
Online media outlet Gigazine reported on Wednesday (local time) that the core of the overhaul is to bundle X and Grok into a single subscription structure. Internal documents are said to include four plans, ranging from a free tier to a top-tier "Ultra" option. The free tier has relatively strict limits on Grok chatbot use, with more features and broader access offered at higher tiers.
The plan names are likely to be "Plus," "Premium," "Super" and "Ultra." Those names were also reportedly spotted in an early-access version of the Android app and in app update notes. There has been no official announcement, but it is being read as a sign that a service revamp is being prepared at the app level.
The most notable tier is the $100-a-month "Ultra" plan. It is expected to include access to an AI agent called "Grok Bot." Grok Bot was introduced as an AI agent that operates 24 hours a day, and the document specifies that it runs on Windows 11, macOS, Linux and iOS and can control a dedicated cloud PC for each agent. SpaceXAI is also said to be considering including access to Cursor, an AI coding tool it acquired.
This package is closer to a bundling strategy than a simple pricing change. Putting X's paid subscription, Grok access, an AI agent and a coding tool into a single product creates room to increase revenue per user. It also aligns with a push to expand Grok from a standalone chatbot into a bundle of productivity tools inside and outside X.
The plan has not been finalised. Internal documents confirmed a proposal to "soon offer four subscription plans," but SpaceXAI has not issued an official position and reportedly did not respond to questions.
Against that backdrop, market attention is focusing on the timing of an actual launch and how features will be divided across tiers. The level of Grok limits under the free plan, and how far access to Grok Bot and Cursor extends under "Ultra," are expected to be key variables for subscription conversions. If the overhaul bundling X and Grok materialises, SpaceXAI will more prominently push a paid model that combines a social service with generative AI.
