Mirae Asset Securities launches foreign investor omnibus account service with Singapore brokerage
Mirae Asset Securities will launch a foreign investor omnibus account service in partnership with Singapore-based brokerage UOB Kay Hian, it said on Sunday. The service allows overseas investors to trade South Korean shares through their local brokerage systems without opening separate accounts in South Korea. Mirae Asset said the deal was led by its Singapore unit and expects it to improve market access for investors in Singapore and Southeast Asia. It plans to expand cooperation with other overseas financial institutions.

KOSPI opens down more than 2 percent; KOSDAQ down 1 percent
South Korean stocks extend the previous session\'s decline in early trading on March 13, with the KOSPI falling more than 2 percent and the KOSDAQ down nearly 1 percent. The benchmark KOSPI opens sharply lower and remains in negative territory. Retail investors are net buyers, while foreign and institutional investors sell. Major large-cap shares such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix fall, and the won strengthens slightly against the dollar.

South Korean stocks fall in early trading on March 12, reversing the previous session’s gains. The KOSPI is down 57.67 points, or 1.03 percent, at 5,552.28, after opening lower. Individuals are net buyers while foreigners and institutions are net sellers. Most heavyweights decline, including Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, while Hanwha Aerospace rises. The KOSDAQ slips 0.15 percent. The won-dollar rate is up 5.20 won at 1,484.20.
