The Korea Digital Authentication Association said Yeom Heung-yeol (염흥열), an emeritus professor in the Department of Information Security at Soonchunhyang University, took office as its new chairman on June 1. It said he will focus on strengthening the reflection of South Korea\'s views in international standardisation bodies such as ITU and ISO, supporting member companies\' technological competitiveness and global expansion, and expanding cooperation networks with related institutions at home and abroad.

KT said on Wednesday it will set up a Personal Information Protection Advisory Committee to respond to changes in the personal data processing environment, restore customer trust and build a responsible data use ecosystem. The company said the body is a strategic governance initiative to strengthen a preemptive, prevention-focused personal information management system. KT said it has appointed outside experts as inaugural advisers and plans to continue expanding the committee.
