The Broadcast Media Communications Commission on Tuesday held its 11th meeting and approved an agenda to appoint new members to 7 statutory committees related to broadcasting.

The committees are the Viewer Rights Protection Committee, chaired by standing commissioner Min-su Ko (고민수); the Universal Viewing Rights Guarantee Committee, chaired by Ko; the Broadcasting Dispute Mediation Committee, chaired by non-standing commissioner Shin-hwan Ryu (류신환); the Broadcasting Evaluation Committee, chaired by non-standing commissioner Seong-ok Yoon (윤성옥); the Media Diversity Committee, chaired by non-standing commissioner Soo-young Choi (최수영); the Broadcast Market Competition Assessment Committee, chaired by non-standing commissioner Sang-geun Lee (이상근); and the Broadcasting Advertising Balanced Development Committee, chaired by Professor Mi-seon Shim (심미선) of Soonchunhyang University.

At the meeting, the commission received a report on a partial revision to a public notice to extend a temporary grace period for regulations on the programming ratio for fully outsourced production by regional MBC and regional private broadcasters, as the grace period is set to expire at the end of next month. It plans to update the notice after follow-up procedures such as an administrative notice.

It also passed an agenda to partly revise matters related to the composition and operation of the review committee in the detailed plan for this year's re-approval review of product sales-type broadcasting channel operators (TV and data).
