Park Se-woong appointed 11th president of ETRI, highlights AI, DX vision
Park Se-woong (박세웅), a professor at Seoul National University, has taken office as the 11th president of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). ETRI held an inauguration ceremony on May 20 at its auditorium. Park presented a vision of opening a warm world through AI and digital transformation innovation. He said ETRI will serve as a full-cycle AI and ICT R&D platform and drive sustainable growth based on human-centred values.

SBS, OpenAI launch three AI projects for local election broadcast
SBS said on Tuesday it will work with OpenAI to roll out three AI-based projects for its June 3 local election broadcast. The projects include an \"AI situation room\" that analyses vote-count data in real time and delivers results through election graphics, an upgraded AI winning-probability system using OpenAI\'s Codex, and a video-art project featuring AI works created with ChatGPT. SBS will also release an \"AI election secretary\" service on May 22.

Naver D2SF invests in user judgement prediction AI startup Clonlabs
Naver D2SF said on May 19 it made a new investment in Clonlabs, an AI startup developing a “user model” to address fatigue from using AI agents. The deal came about three months after D2SF discovered the team through a campus tech startup contest. Clonlabs is building a model that predicts context and makes decisions without user intervention by learning computer-use patterns.
