KT to bring AI to home shopping industry, builds cooperation framework with 12 companies
KT is building an AI and big data-based cooperation framework with South Korean home shopping companies to help revitalise the industry. The company held an insight forum in Seoul on July 16 to discuss sustainable cooperation in line with government home shopping industry policies. Representatives from 12 home shopping firms and related associations attended. KT also presented results and a roadmap for its GSI analysis platform and signed a cooperation agreement with the 12 companies.

Toss Bank receives letter of appreciation for helping prevent voice phishing
Toss Bank said on Sunday it received a letter of appreciation in the name of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency chief from Seoul Gangnam Police Station for its work to prevent voice phishing and other remote financial fraud. The award cited its cooperation framework with the police station and guidance provided on its website on major voice phishing methods and response procedures. The bank also provides fraud-prevention materials and distributes reports on new scam tactics.

Cases are rising of postal carriers acting as a local safety net, from helping at traffic accidents to stopping fires and preventing voice phishing losses. Korea’s Postal Service said carriers’ roles are expanding beyond reporting incidents to early response and support for elderly and isolated households. It has institutionalised regular home visits through a welfare parcel programme and piloted cash delivery of local subsidies for older residents.
