NH Nonghyup Bank said on Jan. 19 it will hold a winter break special class for elementary school students titled "Toktok Snowflakes, Rolling Snowballs!: Savings and Investment, the Magic of Money Growing."

The class will provide basic financial education tailored for young people, covering the importance of saving and an understanding of short- and long-term savings; the concept of investment and the difference between investment and speculation; the types and characteristics of various investment products such as stocks, bonds and real estate; and why people invest and the importance of diversified investing.

The winter break class will be held at 14 youth financial education centres nationwide: Seoul (head office), Seoul (Gangnam), Gangwon, Gyeonggi, South Gyeongsang, Gwangju, Daegu, Daejeon, Busan, South Jeolla, North Jeolla, Jeju, South Chungcheong and North Chungcheong. Details such as how to apply by region and schedules can be found on the bank's youth financial education centre website.

A bank official said, "We hope this will help young people naturally understand the concepts of saving and investing and build interest in finance." The official added, "We will continue to become a warm Nonghyup that creates a bright future together with customers through diverse financial education."
