KOSPI falls below 7,000 on foreign and institutional selling
South Korea\'s benchmark KOSPI slid more than 1 percent on Thursday as foreign investors and institutions sold shares, dragging the index below the 7,000 mark. The market was weighed by caution ahead of the release of the U.S. August consumer price index and by weakness in large semiconductor stocks such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. The won traded at 1,346.50 per dollar in Seoul.
