AI startup Cleon will unveil an AI role-play solution it jointly developed with Samsung Life Insurance at the Samsung Financial Networks booth at a global startup festival, Try Everything 2026, to be held at Seoul's DDP from Sept. 9 to 10.

The company stressed it is the first case of its “Human Interaction AI” being applied in practice at a financial workplace.

According to the company, the AI role-play solution being introduced allows AI to take on the role of an actual customer and hold real-time conversations with users, enabling repeated training across various consultation scenarios. The AI customer responds differently depending on what questions the user asks and how the user explains, and it can also request additional questions or explanations based on customer tendencies or circumstances. This allows users to repeat training similar to real consultations.

Cleon has worked with Samsung Life Insurance after taking part in Samsung Financial C-Lab Outside in 2022.

In 2023, it raised Series A investment from Samsung Venture Investment. Following ongoing technology validation and proof-of-concept work, that led to the development of the joint service, and the AI role-play solution the two companies built together was also designated an innovative financial service in 2026.

Cleon plans to use this collaboration with Samsung Life Insurance as a starting point to expand applications of Human Interaction AI beyond finance to industries where interaction with people is important, including education, retail, customer consulting and entertainment.

Cleon Chief Executive Seung-hyuk Jin (진승혁) said, “Generative AI is rapidly expanding beyond the stage of creating information to the stage of talking and interacting with actual people.” He said, “Cleon defines this area as Human Interaction AI, and through collaboration with Samsung Life Insurance, we verified it in practice for the first time in the financial field.”
