Samsung Electronics succeeds in predicting vasovagal syncope with Galaxy Watch
Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday it became the first in the world to prove through a joint clinical study with Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital that a Galaxy Watch can predict vasovagal syncope at an early stage. The results were published in the latest issue of European Heart Journal-Digital Health, a digital health journal published by the European Society of Cardiology. The study analysed real-time heart rate variability data collected by the Galaxy Watch6 and predicted signs of syncope about 5 minutes in advance with 84.6 percent accuracy.

Tesla patents selective heat-suction cooling to extend range without adding battery capacity
Tesla has disclosed a patent for a new cabin climate-control technology that selectively draws in hot air from specific zones to improve cooling efficiency. The system adds a suction function to existing HVAC equipment, creating negative pressure at certain points to pull in hot air and recirculate it after adjustment. The patent says it could cut air-conditioning power use by up to 7.4 percent at about 40 degrees Celsius and proposes activating the feature only when needed.

EV battery life worries ease as data shows limited degradation after long use
Concerns that electric-vehicle battery performance will deteriorate sharply with increasing mileage appear to be at odds with real-world data, an analysis showed. Telematics firm Recurrent tracked thousands of EVs worldwide and found vehicles driven more than 150,000 miles still retain significant range. It said 2023 models hold range better than 2012 models, while battery replacement rates for newer generations are far lower. Industry officials and experts said the findings could ease consumer anxiety.
