Korea Investment Securities introduces real-time valuation for pension assets

Korea Investment Securities has introduced a feature that allows users to check real-time balance changes for assets in pension accounts, including exchange-traded funds and cash-like holdings. The company said on Aug. 10 it began offering the real-time total pension asset valuation function from Aug. 7. The upgrade enables immediate viewing of asset status after investment, instead of reflecting cash balance changes on the D+2 settlement date.

Tighter rules on spin-off listings as new review standards for duplicate listings take effect Aug 3

Subsidiaries created through a physical split must obtain parent-company shareholder approval to seek a duplicate listing on South Korea\'s stock market. Other subsidiaries will be presumed to meet shareholder-protection requirements if they secure approval, but will face stricter case-by-case reviews by the Korea Exchange if they do not. The Financial Services Commission approved amended listing and disclosure rules and new guidelines, which take effect on Aug. 3.

Cryptocurrency prices fell 36 percent in the first half of this year, while listed crypto-related companies moved in the opposite direction, posting double-digit returns, a report showed. The Bitwise Crypto Innovators 30 Index gained 23 percent over the same period, Bitwise said. The firm cited shifts within the industry, including bitcoin miners benefiting from data-centre demand tied to AI infrastructure, and growth in stablecoins, real-world asset tokenisation and prediction markets.
