Korea Investment Securities has introduced a function that allows users to check balance changes in pension accounts in real time for exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and cash-like assets.
Korea Investment Securities said on Sunday it began offering the "real-time total pension asset valuation" function from Aug. 7.
The function allows users to check balance changes in real time, from each account and the total assets menu, for ETFs, REITs, listed infrastructure funds and cash-like assets included in pension accounts.
Previously, changes in cash balances resulting from ETF investments were reflected on screen on the actual settlement date, D+2, but the revamp allows users to check asset status immediately after investing.
Korea Investment Securities has been enhancing functions related to its mobile trading system (MTS) as the share of ETF investment within pension accounts expands.
It has expanded non-face-to-face pension investment functions by previously introducing an automatic installment ETF purchase service and an on-exchange bond trading service through its MTS.
Choi Jong-jin (최종진), head of the Pension Innovation Division at Korea Investment Securities, said the service was upgraded so users can invest in pensions while checking balances in real time and that the company will continue to strengthen its pension services.
